When’s the Best Time to Sell Your Home?

According to ATTOM’s annual research, sellers tend to get the biggest bang for their buck in the first half of the year—especially in May, February, and April. That period consistently delivers the highest seller premiums, thanks to a combination of strong buyer demand and favorable market conditions.

Here’s how the months stack up in terms of average seller premiums:

  • May: 13.1%

  • February: 12.8%

  • April: 12.5%

  • June: 12.4%

  • March: 12.2%

  • January: 10.6%

  • August: 10.3%

  • December / July: 10.0%

  • November / September: 9.5%

  • October: 8.8%

ATTOM also pinpointed the top-performing days to sell. Leading the list is May 27, with a seller premium of 16.2%. Other strong dates include:

  • February 25: 15.9%

  • February 17: 15.8%

  • February 15: 15.7%

  • February 22: 15.5%

  • May 25: 15.4%

  • March 30: 15.2%

  • March 25: 15.1%

  • February 28 & 24: 15.0% each

The takeaway? If you’re thinking about selling, timing matters—and the calendar could give you a real edge.
